  • Reservations:  Only confirmed reservations will be honored.  Guestroom/yurt reservations may be made up to one year in advance, at rates applicable to the new reservation dates.  The guest’s name, credit card number and email address must be provided at the time a reservation is made.  The Lodge reserves the right to require additional information if deemed necessary or appropriate by the Innkeeper.

  •  Deposits:  In order to be confirmed, each guestroom/yurt reservation must be accompanied by a deposit equal to the greater of the cost of one night’s stay per room/yurt reservation, or 25% of the projected cost for the entire room/yurt stay.

  • Room/Yurt Occupancy:  The guestrooms and yurts are deigned and priced for double occupancy.   Subject to the Innkeeper’s prior consent, there will be an additional charge per night of $35 for any additional persons (except children under 6, for which there will be no additional charge).

  • Minimum Stays:  A two-night stay is required with respect to any reservation that includes a Friday or Saturday night.  Further, the Lodge reserves the right to require a three-night stay with respect to those weekends designated from time to time on the Lodge’s website.

  • Cancellations:  If a confirmed reservation is cancelled at least 14 days prior to scheduled arrival (i.e., a full ten days’ prior to 3:00 PM on the scheduled date of arrival), the applicable reservation deposit will be returned in full.  If a confirmed reservation is cancelled between the fourteenth and third day prior to scheduled arrival, the Lodge will retain the full amount of the applicable reservation deposit.  A prospective guest providing less than three days’ notice, or a “no show”, will be responsible for the reservation in full (i.e., room charges and applicable taxes), which the Lodge will be entitled to charge to the credit card on file.

  • Fees/Taxes:  A sales tax of 8% and an occupancy tax of 4% will be charged on all accommodations, and a sales tax of 8% will be charged on all food, beverages, and other products and services.  A fee of $35 will be charged on all returned checks.  A corking fee may be payable as set forth under “Alcohol” below.

  • Payment:  Payment may be made by cash, traveler’s check, certain credit cards (American Express, Master Card, Visa or Discover card), or, with the consent of the Innkeeper, bank check.

  • Check In/Check Out:  Guests may check in at any time after 3:00 PM.  Check-out must occur on or before 11:00 AM (a later check-out may be arranged with the Innkeeper, subject to other guest commitments).  Any guest requiring a check-in after 8:00 PM should call ahead and inform the Innkeeper of the anticipated time of arrival.

  • Smoking:  Smoking is not permitted in any building comprising a part of the Lodge, or on the grounds generally, except that guests may smoke in the clearly designated smoking area across the road on the north end of the lakefront side of the property.  In an effort to ensure guest compliance, the room of any guest found in violation of our smoking policy will be assessed a $200 cleaning fee per violation.

  • Food:  Food may not be prepared in the guestrooms or yurts (including on patios or balconies), although food prepared elsewhere (such as pizza) may be consumed there.

  • Alcohol:  Only alcohol purchased from the wine shop of at the bar may be consumed in the restaurant, bar and lounge, or on the patios, balconies and grounds of the property, except that, subject to the payment of a corking fee of $15/bottle, guests may consume in these areas wine purchased elsewhere.

  • Pets:  Generally, pets are not allowed.  However, there are a total of four guestrooms/yurts designated as dog friendly, and one dog may stay at a guestroom/yurt so designated upon payment of a $35/night dog fee.  Anyone bringing an animal onto the property is responsible for any damages it causes.

  • Service Animals:  Service animals are welcome, subject to presentation of the necessary documentation, but can only be accommodated in the rooms designated for pets as provided above, if available.

  • Patio/Balcony Use:  Patios and balconies may be used for small gatherings and relaxation, but may not be used for the preparation or consumption of food.

  • Parking:  Guest parking is complimentary at any designated parking space located on the Lodge’s property.  There is parking in front of the north cottages and restaurant and behind the two-story guestroom building, as well as along the side and behind the pool.  Overflow parking is available along Ulster Road to the north of the property.  We do ask that guests not park on grassy areas, except when all other parking spaces are in use.

  • PoolThe pool is available during the pool season for use by guests, but not otherwise.  No life guard will be on duty, and it is imperative that all posted rules relating to use of the pool be strictly observed.

  • Events BuildingThe Winston Pavillion will be available for rental by guests when not being used by the Lodge to host a special event, but will be off-limits to guests when being so used.  If interested in renting the events building, guests should ask the Innkeeper for rental rates.

  • Wine Shop:  Because of limited traffic, the Lodge’s Wine Shop maintains designated “short” hours, which will be posted on the entry door.

  • Fitness Studio:  The Lodge has a small Fitness Studio for use by guests, that is available at all times.  Typically, the door will be unlocked, but the access code for the digital lock is posted in your guestroom/yurt.

  • Personal Effects:  Each guest is solely responsible for his/her personal effects.  While the Lodge is not liable for lost, stolen or left-behind property, it will make every reasonable effort to recover and/or return such property.

  • Damage to Lodge’s Property:  Guests will be liable for any damage or destruction they or their guests cause to the Lodge or its furniture, fixtures or other personal property.

Yurt Tips and Policies

Park only in designated parking areas. Do not drive or park on grassy areas.

  • To open your locked French door when entering the Yurt, press the “Schlage” button and enter the security code given you at check-in.  To lock when leaving, simply press the “Schlage” button.  To lock the door from the inside, simply turn the locking lever.

  • The entry “bug screen” is magnetic and parts in the middle.  Please be careful as you come and go, as it is attached at the top and sides of the entry.

  • The left-side French door is locked in place with pins at the top and bottom of the door.  Simply slide up or down to unlock and lock.  These pins should always be in the locked position when you wish to lock your door.

  • Rainbow Cove is a non-smoking facility, except for the designated area by the waterfront.  In all other areas (including your Yurt), please refrain from smoking.

  • Fires must be limited to the fire pits on the property (just one currently, located on the waterfront).

  • Please use the bathroom fan every time hot water is used.

  • Occasionally, there is wildlife in the area.  Accordingly, food items must always either be left in your car or stored in the Yurt’s refrigerator.

  • The wi-fi network is “Rainbow Cove” and the password is 5855265452.  Other wi-fi networks on the property are “Rainbow Guest” and “Orbi 09” (same password in both cases).

  • A TV channel listing can be found on channel 17.

  • There are three remotes in your Yurt: the larger black remote is for the TV; the smaller black remote is for the oscillating fan on the side wall; and the white remote is for the ceiling fan.

  • Typically, the side window coverings will be rolled up. They can be released and lowered by unlocking the three straps at the top.  To roll back up, please roll up to the inside (opposite the usual way) to avoid having rain water catch in the fold.

  • The dome at the top of your Yurt opens for ventilation, and, typically, will be open.  Opened, it is designed to keep water out when it rains.  Please ask for assistance if you would like it closed.

  • Please consult the Innkeeper if you have any questions or issues.
